The Bride
The weather was fantastic on Saturday (2nd July) and the sun was beating down as I was photographing Gillian and Garry Hendries wedding at Corsewall Lighthouse near Stranraer.
As the afternoon started to come to a close some cloud cover came across and I took the opportunity to photograph the beautiful bride Gillian with the specatcular lighthouse in the background.
This shot was taken with a large burst of fill flash from a camera mounted speedlight to make the dress really stand out against the background.

Like a bird on a wire
I found this shot on a overcast and murky old day, when there was very little to photograph due to the weather. I snuck up on the two rooks and fired off a couple of shots before they could fly away. The image really suited a square crop and duo-tone treatment.
A few weeks after I had uploaded the image to Flickr, I got an e-mail from an Australian artist called Grant Wyness who wished to use the image as a starting point for an painting that he was working on.

Equestrian
I covered a memorial event today held by the Galloway Pony Club at Wigtown in memory of Mrs Pamela McNeill. It rained for most of the day, but it didn't stop the events, or stop me from getting some fabulous photographs. In particular this candid shot showing the relationship between horse and rider was my favourite.

Hare
My Dad was up visiting a few weeks ago and we were heading out in the car to take some pictures along the coast. Ten minutes into the journey we saw this hare sitting in a field. We stopped the car and grabbed our cameras. As we did it flattened itself in some longer grass. We crept up the side of the field trying to get a photograph, when all of a sudden and quite unexpectedly, the hare ran towards us and stopped about 8 feet from where we were standing. It sat and looked at us for a minute before running away again. Mad!

Deck Chairs
I was born and raised in Southend and despite living beside the sea never really spent a lot of time there! A couple of times a year we would attend the airshow or perhaps spend a few pennies in the arcades.
I returned to Essex a few years ago to photograph my sisters wedding. The days leading up to the wedding were blisteringly hot and I enjoyed re-visiting the promenade and taking some candid photos, this was one of my favourites.
